Morgue Attendant receives bodies of deceased patients and helps place bodies in compartment trays. Confirms identification of bodies and releases bodies as appropriate. Being a Morgue Attendant may assist pathologist in performing autopsies. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Additionally, Morgue Attendant typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Position Summary:
Consistent with the Christian mission and vision of the YMCA of Middle TN, and in cooperation with other YMCA staff, under the direction of the YPLAY Coordinator, the YPLAY Attendant is responsible for ensuring the care, safety, and well being of all children in the group. The YPLAY Attendant will work with other site staff to foster children’s social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth.
Essential Functions:
Model the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility
Ensure safe and risk free environment at all times while meeting the individual needs of the participants
Care for children ages six weeks through six years old in YPLAY
Implement and coordinate activities as needed (Kids Gym, creative arts, story hour, special events) that daily builds children in Spirit, Mind and Body
Maintain proper hygiene of children relating to diaper changing and toilet training
Build relationships and interact with members
Attend staff meetings and training sessions
Passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to the mission and cause of the YMCA
An enthusiastic personality with the desire to serve members, volunteers, guests, participants and staff to create a culture of service within our Centers
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
Must present a professional image and possess conflict resolution skills, and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative
Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
Minimum 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Certifications Required:
Before start of 1st shift: New Hire Orientation training
Within 30 days of hire: CPR/First Aid/AED
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand; walk on uneven surfaces; sit; handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. The employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level is usually minimal to moderate.
