The Coda Collection, an Amazon Prime Video Channel, is the dedicated streaming film service music fans have been missing. And our website and app provide deeper context, expert curation, and immersive activities that transform the music experience itself. 

Our exploding library of award-winning music films already includes 190 top concerts, documentaries and series from iconic artists including Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, Aretha Franklin, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Wu-Tang Clan, The Grateful Dead, Tina Turner, Pearl Jam,  and more. Each film is complemented with custom editorial and experiences from the most talented music writers and commentators in the business.  

In just our first year, we're off to a rapid start: hit film exclusives, such as What Drives Us (directed by Dave Grohl); global live streams, including the two “40 Years of Metallica” concerts; and top notch press coverage from Rolling Stone, Variety, Billboard and beyond. 

We are now seeking to build upon this momentum with a new valued teammate: a Senior Software Engineer.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced software engineer who can lead the team forward by building the products and supporting operational tools that help our platform run smoothly in addition to propelling us into the next phase music curation. 

Where You Come In

• The Senior Software Engineer will help design and implement modern, scalable and reliable systems that take advantage of a wide array of AWS services

• Evolve our secondary screen experience, Coda Companion, including integration with external media services and platforms  

• Build upon and create new operational tooling, crucial to running a high-volume streaming platform

• You will help define platform capabilities, implementing core solutions using solid design principles while balancing complexity, speed of implementation, reliability, and expandability

• Participate in the design and implementation of multi-layered systems delivering highly reliable and scalable solutions

• Implement infrastructure capabilities and lead automated release and deployment process

• Provide guidance and enforcement of development practices and processes

• Participate in the recruitment, growth, and setting the cultural tone of the engineering organization and beyond

What You'll Need

• 5 years of relevant industry experience

• Proficiency with cloud-based technologies in AWS such as EC2, Lambda, RDS, SQS and MediaConvert

• Expertise designing APIs and building RESTful services in Python

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies such as Typescript, React, GraphQL and their interactions with APIs

• A demonstrated ability to work on a diverse scope of software and database projects requiring detailed analysis and technical detailed designs

• Exposure to the full lifecycle of application development including best practices for unit testing, code reviews, documentation, etc.

• BS, BA, or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or its equivalent

• The curiosity and passion to research and learn new technologies
