SALARY: 2024 $42,586 NYS Retirement; Health, Dental, Vision Benefits; Earned paid time off; CSEA Union; Yearly increasesLOCATION: City of Saratoga Springs NYMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The following qualification(s) MUST be met and clearly detailed on the City of Saratoga Springs application form· Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered two year college with an Associates Degree; business related field desiredOR· Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two (2) years of full time paid clerical experience;ANTICIPATED ELIGIBILITY· DEGREE AND/OR LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: ONLY APPLIES IF A REQUIREMENT. If you expect to complete the educational requirement within 6 months, you can be admitted to this examination. If successful on the examination, you will not be certified for appointment until you have submitted proof of completion of the requirements to the Saratoga Springs Civil Service Office. Proof must be submitted within 2 months, following award of degree; failure to do so will result in removal of your name from the established eligible list.SPECIAL NOTES:· Clerical experience is defined as performance of routine office tasks, such as keeping of records and accounts, correspondence, recording/entering and retrieving data and/or information, in accordance with prescribed procedures.· Degree must have been awarded by a college or university by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the US Department of Education/US Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. A list of acceptable companies who provide this service can be found on the internet at http://www.cs.ny.gov/jobseeker/degrees.cfm You must pay the required evaluation fee.DUTIES: This is a specialized clerical work position involving the collection and /or rectification of data within the City of Saratoga Springs. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Commissioner and/or Deputy Commissioner with direct supervision by the designated Office Supervisor in accordance with prescribed guidelines and policies.
