The External Mortgage Officer's responsibility is to continually identify, develop, and maintain a network to establish referral source relationships. This position is responsible for receiving a steady flow of loan volume from real estate brokers and other external sources. The External Mortgage Officer would offer INOVA Federal's competitive mortgage products and services while providing excellent member service to potential borrowers throughout the home-buying and refinance process. In addition, this position would review financial information, submit completed applications, and related required documentation. This position will monitor the overall status of the loan while keeping borrowers and realtors updated.

Responsibilities:

• Establish referrals for mortgage loan leads
• Interview borrowers to process accurate mortgage applications
• Request documentation from members pertaining to income, property description, etc.
• Maintain an understanding of INOVA's mortgage products and pricing
• Inform applicants of decisions and advise members on products to meet their needs
• Cross-sell INOVA products and services to members
• Keep member and credit union information confidential
• Attend realtor events 

Experience:

• Fair Housing regulations: 2 years (Required)
• Mortgage Loan origination: 2 years (Required)
• Established relationships with realtors: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) (Preferred)
