Role:Preserves the credit union's assets by controlling delinquent loan accounts, assisting members in working through their financial difficulties and helping find solutions for loan payments and/or recovering collateral. To inspire loyalty and create outstanding member experiences by working with members to modify loans and provide counseling for various financial issues. Works within the Member Solutions Department to deliver member focused solutions while supporting Rogue's Vision, Mission and Values.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:45% Monitors both consumer and real estate loan portfolios, reviews accounts for modification to ensure the continued strength and stability of the credit union's loan portfolio. Works directly with members to find solutions to their existing financial issues.
20% Provides loan and financial counseling. Collects on delinquent property taxes to protect Rogue's lien position. Collects on Business loans with balances less than $50,000.
15% Analyzes financial situations of delinquent members; makes recommendations to charge off loans when other arrangements or other modification attempts are unsuccessful.
10% Maintains accurate files and reports on all collection activity.
5% On behalf of the credit union, prepares for and testifies at legalproceedings as required.
5% Proactively performs other duties as needed or assigned.
Knowledge & Skills:Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience. Previous lending experience, experience in underwriting of consumer and real estate loans preferred including financial loan counseling.
Education: (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
Other Skills: Excellent communication skills required. Functional with spreadsheets and word processing software. Able to learn new systems and software quickly.
Physical Requirements: Some adjusting or moving objects up to 30 pounds in all directions. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers while using computer. Communicating with others to exchange information. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and make fine discernments in sound. Close and continuous visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.
Work Environment: Normal workday with occasional overtime. Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, i.e., robbery.
