Mortgage Development Manager manages a team of mortgage lending specialists in developing customer relationships, promoting mortgage loan products, and attaining volume and profit goals. Ensures that application processing follows state, federal, and organizational policies and guidelines and that customers have accurate loan information and guidance about product options. Being a Mortgage Development Manager conducts team training on company products and services. Coaches team members to promote a sales culture, improve selling techniques, and meet goals. Additionally, Mortgage Development Manager monitors trends and developments in the real estate markets and changes to private and government-insured mortgages. Maintains relationships with a network of realtors, attorneys, CPAs, and other contacts to obtain referrals and facilitate the lending process. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Mortgage Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Mortgage Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Essential Duties:

    • Monitor and direct the workflow/loan activity in the assigned areas.
    • Develop and train team while ensuring compliance for the assigned areas.
    • Have a thorough understanding of the business unit's operational processes and the implications on other groups that function within the operations.
    • Ensure their team is working closely and effectively with their partners in the management of their loans
    • Oversees the assigned staff ensuring that each area is following state and federal regulations and that all transactions are completed within required timeframe
    • Train and mentor team members and ensure professional development while meeting company core values.
    • Prepare related reports and audit current procedures to monitor and improve efficiency of operations.
    • Gathers collections data for data reporting to management.
    • Prepare, analyze and present metrics/updates monthly and quarterly to Mgmt.
    • Assist with the design and implementation of collections strategies and workflows.
    • Responsibility for the research and resolution of escalated delinquent customers, including write-off or turn over to a collection agency.
    • Special analysis and preparation as required.
    • In coordination with manager, develops proper collection methods/strategies.
    • Provides on the job training to employees.

    Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used

    • Advanced knowledge of Billing and Collections procedures.
    • Advanced knowledge and understanding of State and Federal Fair Debt Collections Laws, US Bankruptcy Code, and Bankruptcy procedures and regulations.
    • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to manage conflict and negotiate successful outcomes.
    • Organizing, Planning and Prioritizing Work-Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize organize and accomplish work.
    • Able to drive workload, mentor and assist in training of team members.
    • Able to support supervisor during absences.
    • Able to thrive on working in a fast paced environment, prefer managing multiple priorities within a high-energy, collaborative, fast moving environment.
    • Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
    • Must be able to analyze and interpret complex documents to make sound decisions and recommendations.
    • Excellent verbal and written skills.
    • Strong attention to detail, goal oriented.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education preferred
    • 3 years of directly related experience
    • 2 years demonstrated experience in a lead or supervisory role

    COMPUTER & EQUIPMENT SKILLS

    • Intermediate in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Word processing (speed and accuracy)
    • Email
    • Internet software
    • Use typical office equipment (computers, phones, copiers, scanners, etc.)

    REASONING and MENTAL ABILITIES

    • Uses critical thinking skills to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and to analyze complex documents like contracts and technical directions.

    PHYSICAL ABILITIES

    • Vision (with or without correction) sufficient to read a computer screen at 20 inches and to operate office equipment or a car.
    • Clear speaking on the telephone and in person; hearing within normal ranges in noise environments typical of office.
    • Able to sit for long periods of time at computer or other work station and in meetings.
    • Able to finger and feel in order to use equipment, computers and operate equipment.
    • Able to lift 10 pounds occasionally unassisted.
