Job Summary: Responsible for processing all Programs & Products including all in-house (portfolio) loans, FHA, VA, and Conventional mortgage loan applications including ordering title work, appraisals, and all verifications applicable to each file.
Education/Experience: A minimum of the following education/experience is required:
- High School diploma/GED and 3 years in banking or mortgage related field is required; OR
- Associate Degree and 1 year in banking or mortgage related field.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
- Processes loan requests, to include FHA, VA & Conventional loans; refinance and purchase money second liens.
- Compiles and analyze financial information and documents for mortgage applications and confirm compliance with underwriting guidelines.
- Provides mortgage application information requirements to the parties involved, including Loan Originators, realtors, sellers, and applicants.
- Manages a pipeline of loan files in various stages of processing as designated by management and insure customer service standards are met.
- Prepares and Issue forms required for regulatory compliance.
- Reviews financial information and documents for accuracy and completeness and calculate income and review assets and liabilities to insure compliance with guidelines.
- Discloses mortgage loans upon receipt of contract.
- Explains to borrower and track waiting periods on disclosures and right to cancel.
- Determines a change of circumstance and take appropriate action to allow the loan to close.
- Understands FNMA Delegated Underwriting (DU) and FHLMC Loan Prospector (LP) automated underwriting findings.
- Understands RESPA, HMDA, TRID and other applicable regulations.
- Registers with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and maintain the unique identifying number necessary as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO).
