Overview:
The Detention Center seeks highly motivated, responsible and committed applicants to supervise and manage adult male and female pre-trial detainees and sentenced inmates in a secure institutional setting.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor and supervise inmates within the correctional facility
- Conduct regular patrols and security checks to ensure the safety of staff and inmates
- Enforce rules and regulations to maintain order and discipline
- Respond to emergencies, including fights, medical incidents, and fires
- Conduct searches for contraband items
- Prepare detailed reports on incidents, inmate behavior, and facility operations
- Assist with inmate transportation and court appearances
- Collaborate with other staff members to maintain a secure environment

Requirements:

- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have a valid SC Driver's License
- Must pass background checks, including criminal history, reference check and drug screening

- Must successfully complete Criminal Justice Academy training within first year of employment. Salary increases to $39, 724 upon certification.

- Must be able to work rotating 12 - hour shifts, weekends, holidays and report for training, meetings and emergency recall if required.
