Mortgage Loan Processing Supervisor supervises a team of loan processors to ensure that new mortgage loan packages are processed and completed according to established policies and procedures. Ensures operations are efficient and effective. Being a Mortgage Loan Processing Supervisor evaluates files for accuracy, completion, and compliance with governmental regulations. Trains and supports a team of processors on current and new procedures. Additionally, Mortgage Loan Processing Supervisor may prepare loans for underwriting. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Mortgage Loan Processing Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Conduct loan interviews, discuss programs, explain processes, and request supporting documentation for loan approval.
- Evaluate credit and financial status of prospective borrowers to make sales of residential mortgage loans.
- Cross sell Credit Union products and services.
- Make outgoing calls to sell our products and services.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all credit union mortgage products including purchase money 1st mortgages, 1st mortgage refinances, 2nd mortgages, HELOCs, bridge loans, construction loans, and VA/USDA/FHA loans.
- Understand and apply all federal rules and regulations associated with mortgage lending.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with realtors.
- Attend purchase loan closings.
- Assist in fielding member calls associated with mortgage lending.
- Develop a working knowledge of the Credit Union's data processing system, loan origination system, Word, and Excel software.
- Maintain knowledge of available loan products, processing procedures and underwriting guidelines.
- Any other duties assigned by supervisor or management.
