The Mortgage Loan Processor plays a pivotal role in facilitating the mortgage loan process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with all relevant regulations. This role will be responsible for all aspects of the mortgage origination and closing process to ensure a timely closing.  Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to communicate effectively with members and Mortgage Loan Officer’s will be essential in providing exceptional service and support throughout the loan process.  This role will also need to be able to work in a collaborative team environment taking on additional jobs and duties that will further benefit the department.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

• Application Processing:   Collect required documentation from borrowers, including income verification, employment history, credit reports, and property information.  Validate loan estimate and verify application data is complete and accurate.

• Loan Documentation: Prepare and organize all required documentation for underwriting review. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies throughout the documentation process. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all mortgage loan files. Prepare all document packages for timely disclosure and loan closing.

• Communication: Maintain regular communication with credit bureau agencies, employers, real estate agents, insurance companies, and other stakeholders to provide update on loan status, request additional information, and address any concerns or questions timely for final loan approval.  

• Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures throughout the loan process. Comply with regulations to ensure initial disclosures, re-disclosures, and closing disclosures are delivered in the required timeframes.

Qualifications

Who We’re Looking For:

• 1-3 years of experience in mortgage lending, loan processing, or related role within a financial institution.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and in a fast-paced environment, maintaining quality and accuracy in times of high volume.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience in customer service, providing a positive, clear process regardless of complexity.
• Ability to take notes and retain information.
