Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Loan Servicing Assistant Manager/Manger, the Loan Servicing Specialist I is responsible for a variety of servicing functions in connection with all loan products offered at the credit union; including consumer secured, consumer unsecured and all mortgage loans. The Loan Servicing Specialist I possess a strong working knowledge of credit union lending systems, loan documents and products. The position ensures all loan level servicing functions are processed timely and acts as the intermediary between our external first mortgage loan servicer, our members, branch personnel, Contact Center, and the lending department to ensure problem resolution is achieved and all member inquiries are addressed timely while ensuring a high level of accuracy and member satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Processes title work for refinances, private party sales and lease buy-outs electronically and manually for lien perfecting.
· Responsible for verifying the thoroughness and accuracy of the documentation and fees before submitting to the DMV. Ensure the credit union does not incur unnecessary penalties. When applicable, responsible for direct interaction with the DMV.
· Responsible for researching, correcting, and clearing all outstanding title-perfected items in an accurate and timely manner. Accountable for all outstanding vehicle titles. Ensure that the number of outstanding titles is within set guidelines. Ensures the credit union is not in a loss position and the credit union is listed as the lien holder.
· Responsible for the appropriate release of titles to members, dealers, other institutions, and insurance companies, given the receipt of required documentation.
· Responsible for posting dealerships and member payoffs.
· Reconciles and balances DMV bundles and GL. Issue member refunds or any overages as needed.
· Process lien satisfied requests and assist members with Out of State titling and registration requests.
· Coordinate all SWBC Insurance related functions; member inquiries, process CPI Billing and Refund reconciliation and member debit/credit posting to loans.
· Assist with total loss insurance or damaged vehicle claims and work with insurance companies to secure best value for our consumer loan collateral.
· Perform additional duties and projects as assigned. Supports Loan Servicing Department with administrative tasks such as mailing closed loan letters, pulling, and scanning paper file.
· Serve internal employees and external members as appropriate with the highest level of service standards.
