Heritage is looking for a Mortgage Loan Closer who is responsible for providing support for all mortgage loan closing activities. Reviews loan documentation, obtains and verifies pre-closing loan stipulations are cleared by underwriting. Prepares preliminary Closing Disclosure and validates final fees and charges with title company. Prepares closing documents and ensures accuracy and compliance with regulation of closing documents. Communicates status of closing file with Mortgage Loan Officer, Sr. Relationship Banker, Buyer, Seller, Realtor, and Title Company.
What you’ll do:
- Reviews loan documentation, obtains and verifies pre-closing stipulations have been cleared and approved by mortgage underwriter.
- Communicates status of loans to Mortgage Loan Officer, buyer, seller, realtor, and Title Company.
- Compliance verifications on new accounts.
- Adhere to all state, federal and credit union policies, rules, and regulations within areas of responsibility.
- Assists the Mortgage Loan Officer with scheduling the closing.
- Prepares and initiates wiring of funds to title company with our wire department to ensure funds are received the prior day of closing.
- Reviews new mortgage applications for accuracy and completeness.
- Assists and supports Mortgage Loan personnel as needed.
- Contact applicants to request necessary loan documentation.
Qualifications/Experience Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Understanding of mortgage loan processing functions including knowledge of mortgage related requirements, procedures, and underwriting criteria.
- 1 years of related mortgage loan processing experience.
- Ability to work in a fast pace high volume environment.
- Strong Communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to use computer applications and equipment.
