MORTGAGE ORIGINATOR

Northwoods Credit Union (NCU) of Cloquet and Moose Lake, MN is looking to hire a full time Mortgage Originator. As a Mortgage Originator, you will be responsible for growing your loan portfolio through building realtor relationships, gaining referrals, and working with direct inquiries from our membership. POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Originate first and second mortgages.
• Network within the community to grow your mortgage portfolio.
• Establish and maintain relationships with realtors.
• Interview members to understand their goals to help identify the best loan product for them. Assist them with the completion of their mortgage application in person, via phone, or electronically.
• Knowledge of various mortgage products offered including secondary market programs.
• Knowledge of credit reports, financials, and property evaluations along with the ability to analyze them thoroughly.
• Perform closings and explain final mortgage paperwork to members.
• Communicate, verbally and in writing, professionally and effectively throughout the organization and with members.
• Be a team player. Work closely with mortgage processors, underwriters, and title agents to ensure a smooth mortgage process from start to finish.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior mortgage experience (preferred)
• Position requires the ability to work flexible hours and travel between all credit union facilities as needed
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and other commonly used office software
• Ability to become proficient with our Software Systems
• Ability to obtain NMLS
• Ability to stay organized and balance the demands of having multiple loans in the pipeline at once
• Customer service skills
• Self-Motivated

WORK SCHEDULE

This full-time Mortgage Originator position works varied hours, typically between 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday. This position has an alternating schedule between our Cloquet and Moose Lake branches.
