Mortgage Underwriting Manager provides quality mortgage loans to customers. Reviews and develops all aspects of mortgage loan guidelines to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Being a Mortgage Underwriting Manager monitors processes and systems of mortgage loans and promotes the new line of businesses. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Mortgage Underwriting Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Mortgage Underwriting Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Mortgage Underwriting Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required. - Preparing information needed to market new and renewal business
- Monitoring various reports for consistency
- Potential for policy issuance and endorsement processing
- Make and follow through with request for missing information from outside sources
- Assist in accounting procedures such as invoicing
- Data entry into multiple internet based systems
- Use Microsoft Office software, (e.g. Outlook, Word and Excel)
We are looking for people with:- At least one year experience in an office environment
- Insurance experience preferred
- Excellent computer skills including typing proficiency, Microsoft Office proficiency with an emphasis in Excel spreadsheets
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- P&C License or able to obtain within 90 days of hire (Amwins reimbursed expense)
