Motion Analysis Center System (MACS) Engineer reports directly to the Corporate Director of MACs and provides oversight of the operations, data collection/storage, accreditation, quality improvement/research projects, and MAC Engineers within their region. This position is on-site in Philadelphia, PA and will provide oversite for Erie, PA and Springfield, MA.
This MACS Engineer will be part of a network of 14 motion analysis centers with 10 PhDs and 7 masters level engineers. The Shriners Children’s network of motion labs is committed to providing the best clinical care for our patients and developing research projects that advance the field of pediatric motion and improves the care of children with movement disorders.
The MACS Engineer is a fully funded hospital position who provides technical oversite for three motion analysis centers in their region. The role of the MACS engineer is to provide excellence in clinical care and to collaborate with physicians, physical therapist and engineers in the Shriners Children’s network. We are seeking a candidate with expertise in clinical interpretation of marker motion capture data and can develop new models of motion beyond gait, such as sports, upper extremity, and trunk analysis. The ideal candidate would also have an interest in exploring the application of new technologies such as markerless, 2D analysis, and wearable sensors in pediatrics. A strong candidate will have the ability to code, preferably in Python, and have experience in statistical analysis of motion data, machine learning and/or management of large data sets.
The pay range for this position is $101,340-$152,010/annually. Compensation is determined based on relevant experience and department equity.
