The Department of Financial Services is seeking candidates for the position of Director of Multimedia and Design in External Affairs and Strategy. The Director of Multimedia and Design will execute the multimedia and branding vision across digital channels. The Director will develop the agency’s video and multimedia strategy in coordination with Department leadership and oversee all aspects of the Department’s photo, video, and multimedia production. Other duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Establishes DFS’s digital video and multimedia vision and LTF (look, tone, feel), strategy, policies, and procedures;
· Manages all aspects of DFS’s photo, video, and multimedia production;
· Captures and expeditiously edits photos and videos of Superintendent at events, interviews, meetings, and hearings to be shared across digital platforms, including social media, website, intranet, and newsletters;
· Coordinates and executes technical and multimedia aspects of all in-person and virtual events, including press conferences, townhalls, virtual meetings and hearings, etc.;
· Conceptualizes and creates high-quality video content for promotional and educational purposes that engages internal and external stakeholders;
· Handles all aspects of pre- and post-production for scripted and live video shoots, including set design, lighting, script development, captioning, approvals, etc.;
· Catalogues all multimedia content and co-manages digital platforms for photo and video hosting, including YouTube, Flickr, Vimeo, etc.;
· Works closely with administrative team to develop recruitment and onboarding materials;
· Works closely with training team and business units to create and edit educational and training content;
· Works closely with OFM for purchase and maintenance of video and photography hardware and software;
· Supervises and trains graphic design and video team; and
· Staffs Superintendent to events and provides additional support as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of communication, photo, and video production experience.
· Advanced proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Experience with Acrobat and the Microsoft Suite. Web design experience a plus.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
· Project management skills.
