COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The annual compensation band for this full-time position is $27.00 to $32.00/hour, commensurate with experience. Employer-sponsored benefits include health insurance via UPMC’s Business Advantage plan ($500 deductible, with premiums on a wage-based sliding scale). WQED pays 100% of the premiums for: Delta Dental PPO, long-term disability insurance from The Hartford, and basic life insurance at 1.5X salary. We offer optional vision insurance through Vision Benefits of America. After 12 months, WQED also contributes 5% of employees’ salary to a 403(b) retirement plan managed by TIAA-CREF.

THE ROLE

WQED Multimedia is seeking an Education Asset Manager to play a pivotal role in curating, creating, and maintaining educational content, ensuring its effective dissemination through various channels. This position aims to enhance the educational impact of WQED by managing PBS Learning Media, developing engaging educational programs, and maintaining brand consistency in all materials.

Your contribution in creating educational assets will significantly enhance the effectiveness of all community programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to)

• Upload, organize, and maintain content on PBS Learning Media platform to ensure a comprehensive and accessible repository for educators.
• Format and enhance the branding and graphic elements of printables, creating visually appealing educational materials for effective outreach.
• Develop and design educational programs, including activities, lesson plans, and resources, while overseeing the procurement of materials for outreach and partner use.
• Curate activity kits, classroom kits, and educator resource binders for an enriching educational experience.
• Write and create content for programming, encompassing Family and Community Learning (FCLs), book club guides, resource guides, and lesson plans.
• Update slides and ensure adherence to brand guidelines in all educational materials for a cohesive and recognizable brand presence.
• Actively participate in the review and pilot phases of activities, resources, and family engagements from PBS and other programs, ensuring quality and relevance.
• Serve as a liaison between the education department and the web and graphics department to facilitate seamless collaboration.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all programs and projects within the education department.
• Curate and manage education newsletters to keep stakeholders informed.
• Create and manage Spotify playlists related to educational content for an engaging multimedia experience.
• Create and manage forms and spreadsheets to streamline processes and efficiently collect data for analysis and improvement.
• Upload and administer Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for relevant programs, ensuring compliance with educational standards.
• Manage content on the education department's YouTube account to expand the reach of educational resources.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS (including but not limited to)

• Background in Education, Graphic Design, or related area; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Proficiency in graphic design tools like Adobe Creative Suite or similar software for creating educational materials.
• Good writing and communication skills to clearly convey information.
• Being organized and detail-oriented to manage educational assets accurately.
• Understanding of educational programs and resources from WQED and PBS to align materials with standards.
• Ability to collaborate with different departments like content creators and educators.
• Experience with content management systems and online platforms for efficient distribution of educational materials.
