    REPORTS TO: Director of Miller Library

    LOCATION: Grand Rapids, MI primarily with hybrid remote work possible

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES

    • Serve as a liaison to faculty and students in Business and Computer Science subject areas.
    • Provide Research Instruction to faculty and students as requested for the specific subject areas.
    • Provide research assistance for Cornerstone community.
    • Sourcing resources for subject matter experts to use in the development of courses.
    • Create and manage a learning resources repository used by faculty and other subject matter experts to access digital content for specific courses.
    • Create and maintain electronic resource records in electronic resource management applications, including electronic resource licenses and licensing expressions.
    • Responsible for the maintenance of print periodicals.
    • Manage remote (off-campus) access to library resources and databases.
    • Manage the Library's link resolver, knowledge base, and discovery layer.
    • Troubleshoot e-access problems reported by patrons and other library staff.
    • Collect and manage database statistics using spreadsheets and other Admin modules.
    • Attend work related professional meetings and workshops.
    • Serve on standing or other committees as assigned.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    REFERRED QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelors degree in Library and Information Science (ALA accredited), Masters degree preferred.
    • Minimum 1-3 years of related digital experience in an academic library.
    • Knowledge and understanding of an integrated library system, experience with Innovative Interfaces Sierra preferred.
    • Knowledge and understanding of acquisitions processes for electronic resources, e.g., licensing, access provision, link resolver, electronic resource management, and discovery layer.
    • Knowledge and understanding in licensing of digital content.
    • Experience with multiple electronic/digital sources of content preferred, with an eye for access in multiple mobile modalities. Some examples include SerialsSolutions products 360 Core, 360 Link, Summon; Innovative Interfaces’ ERM; EZProxy; and Springshare LibGuides.
    • Knowledge of technology trends, standards, and issues in academic libraries and higher education.

    SALARY AND START DATE:

    • $40,000 - 55,000/year. The actual salary will be commensurate with professional credentials, education and experience. A full benefit package including health plans, disability coverage, and retirement is included.
