MCD seeks a skilled and personable Store Associate to join our team.

    • Act as a gallery ambassador on occasion, generally during events or when there are large groups of visitors.
    • Alert office staff to large groups visiting or any issues in the gallery so that a staff member can act as gallery security, as needed.
    • Awareness and support of events and programs, working closely with key departments including Programs, Membership, Development, Curatorial, and Administration to help develop and implement successful outcomes.

    Additional Responsibilities and Information

    • As this position involves cashier duties, Associates are entrusted with various cash handling and loss prevention responsibilities.
    • Associates are expected to possess a friendly demeanor and to dress professionally and appropriately for a museum environment.
    • Knowledge of the museum’s mission, exhibitions, and events calendar by speaking with other museum employees and by visiting MCD’s website regularly to stay up to date.
    • Associates are to check the reception@sfmcd.org email account and calendar at the beginning of each shift for updates on the store, museum, and to ascertain if any tour groups are expected.
    • Store Associates are hourly, non-exempt employees of MCD and hired on an at-will basis.

The mainland within the city limits roughly forms a "seven-by-seven-mile square", a common local collo...
