America's National Parks, a not-for-profit partner of the National Park Service, is seeking a Site Manager with a strong work ethic to support our retail operations at Grand Portage National Monument in Grand Portage, MN.
This is a part-time, year-round, hourly, position. The right candidate will need to be available 20 hours per week with one weekend day required. Ideal candidate can work part time in the off-season and full-time in the peak season, approximately May through October. The Visitor’s Center is open Monday through Saturday in the winter, and seven days a week in the summer, so availability across days is ideal. Candidates should anticipate approximately 10-16 hours a week in the winter, and 32-40 hours a week in the summer. .
We’re looking for someone who is versatile, dedicated and has a desire to learn and grow with America’s National Parks.
The Site Manager will be a key member of the America’s National Parks team and will manage all retail business operations according to company policies, procedures, and standards. The Site Manager will drive the business while supporting America’s National Parks mission including a regular review of store sales goals to identify growth opportunities. The successful candidate is also responsible for ensuring timely deposit of daily sales receipts, managing controllable expenses including payroll and operations expenses, and maintaining accurate records according to America’s National Parks policy. The Site Manager must exhibit exceptional customer service and selling skills and ensure displays are shoppable and visually appealing.
The right candidate will have the following:
Minimum of three years’ experience in retail management.
Computer proficiency with applied understanding of Microsoft Office software.
Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team through shared Mission and goals.
Results driven and able to achieve sales and profitability goals.
Ability to thrive in a multi-tasking, high energy environment with shifting priorities.
Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 15 pounds to a shelf height of 5 feet; may be exposed to standing for long periods of time to include bending, squatting, and reaching.
Ability to travel using multiple modes of transportation (air, train, car, etc.) as needed.
This position serves as an ambassador for America’s National Parks and will promote America’s National Parks mission. America’s National Parks is the educational branch of Eastern National, providing quality educational experiences to national park visitors through our park stores, interpretive services, and custom publications.
