The Network Administrator is responsible for the administration, implementation, support and management of the LAN and VoIP network infrastructure, and unified communications infrastructure. The Network Administrator will analyze existing infrastructure solutions, perform daily administration and make recommendations for enhancements which ensure the related systems are redundant, scalable, and resilient.

This position has broad responsibilities; the successful candidate will have a strong desire and ability to learn new technologies.

Position Duties & Accountabilites: 

• Participate in the planning activities to develop strategies for related systems.
• Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of related infrastructure technologies.
• Act as a project resource to implement infrastructure related solutions.
• Administer network solutions with focus on redundancy, scalability, and resiliency.
• Manage and administer UC infrastructure and its associated software, including LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless, call management systems, voice/web/video conferencing systems, and mobile telephony.
• Provide advanced infrastructure troubleshooting support across all related technologies.
• Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure infrastructure products and services in a timely and professional manner. Ensure that vendors adhere to contracted SLA’s.
• Provide capacity metrics to ensure future needs are met before issues arise. Produce timely management status and operational reports including present cost estimates, budget reports, capacity forecasting, and systems upgrade recommendations.
• Maintain current system documentation and diagrams necessary for IT compliance and adherence to best practices.
