The Senior Network Administrator will be responsible for managing the county's networks, servers, and security programs. This includes contributing to the design, management, maintenance and monitoring of the Counties networksESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Manage the functionality and efficiency of a network that supports the IT infrastructure at multiple locations.
- Diagnose and solve customer issues and find ways to improve support procedures.
- Design, implement, monitor, and maintain network infrastructure and systems. This includes both wired and wireless networks.
- Provide metrics and reports to management of the network environment.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of wireless best practices and experience deploying and managing that environment.
- Experience delivering detailed design diagrams, maintaining them and creating complete technical documentation.
- Stay current on emerging technologies as well as expiring technologies. Updating management and working to identify replacement solutions.
- Develop and implement network security policies and programs.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of network infrastructure with other systems.
- Ensure all network systems are secure and up to date with the latest security measures.
- Ability to work independently with direct supervision and training to perform day-to-day operations.
- Participate in special projects as required.
- May be requested to assist with outside hours IT support activity
- Assists Information Technology staff as directed to meet Brown County goals.
- Communicates to the affected customer(s) work order and project status, and ensures work is followed through to completion.
- Interacts professionally and appropriately with others, without regard to individual characteristics. Demonstrates a personal commitment to create a hospitable and welcoming environment.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, computer science or related professional work experience
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in IT operations.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience specializing in complicated and multiple location networks.
- Certifications and continuing education preferred.
Licenses and Certification:- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Applicable IT certification(s) preferred.
- Networking and related security certification(s) preferred.
- Fingerprint/background clearance required.
- Sound understanding of computer systems, networks, security, and telecommunications.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and projects.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of applicable compliance requirements, cyber insurance, and data privacy practices and laws.
- Experience implementing cybersecurity controls and tools.
- Ability to work required hours of the position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:- Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Intermittent standing, walking, and sitting; occasional driving.
- Using hand(s)/feet for repetitive single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, and operating controls.
- Occasional bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
- Distinguishing sounds at various frequencies and volumes.
- Distinguishing people or objects at varied distances under a variety of light conditions.
