The Job

As a Network Administrator, you will be responsible for the overall management and optimization of our computer networks while also providing technical support to end-users. You will play a critical role in ensuring the security, reliability, and performance of our network infrastructure, as well as delivering exceptional customer service to our staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of networking principles, security protocols, and experience with providing help desk support in a financial institution setting.

Key Priorities Include

• Provide courteous, prompt, and effective assistance to credit union staff, ensuring their technical issues are resolved satisfactorily.
• Maintain the credit union's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and internet systems.
• Perform regular network maintenance tasks such as software updates, hardware upgrades, and security patches.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues reported by credit union staff in a timely and efficient manner.
• Provide technical support to end-users and other IT staff regarding network-related issues, including connectivity problems, network configuration, and application performance.
• Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers to troubleshoot complex network issues and implement solutions.
• Manage and maintain the credit union's telecommunications systems.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Work independently and as a team member while making recommendations and using sound judgment.
• Provide on-call support for Information Technology and cover shifts as required.
• Always maintain a high level of confidentiality within the information systems function and administrative offices.
• Understand and comply with all BSA regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior financial institution experience preferred.
• Microsoft Active Directory experience required. Microsoft Exchange experience a plus.
• VMWare experience required.
• Three years' experience in information technology or related field.
• Knowledge of Cisco network hardware and telecommunications systems required.
• Familiarity with SQL, IIS, DNS, DHCP a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to simultaneously coordinate and work on several unrelated functions and projects while adhering to deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and ability to provide technical assistance to non-technical end-users with patience and empathy.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
