Data Center Network Design SME
Overview:
Our Public Sector client is seeking a Data Center Network Design Subject Matter Expert (SME) who can design, implement, maintain, and resolve issues with the client’s data network.
This position is responsible for architectural design, optimization and quality assurance for implementation and management of the Data Center network infrastructure. This position is also responsible to provide escalation points for experienced and senior level staff and acts as the single point of contact for all escalations and troubleshooting.
This position will develop standards and procedures to ensure alignment with strategic initiatives and security requirements. This infrastructure interfaces with the Network Core, Hosting environments, Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) systems involving thousands of devices.
This position requires an extremely high degree of technical skill, initiative, and creativity and must keep current with new and emerging theories, regulations, standards, technologies, and practices in tools, software, networking, operating systems, and hardware in order to provide for the needs of the State. The ability to foresee the impact of updates or configuration changes to BGP, NTP and of Cisco Nexus/IOS devices on the Data Center Network is of paramount importance. Responsibilities also include end-to-end facilitation, validation, and the roll out of new technologies, such as ISE, DNAC and NDFC/NDI for Data Center networks.
This position also involves mentoring, coaching, coordinating, and consulting with fellow systems administrators and architects within the Enterprise Architecture, Michigan Cyber Security, and other teams that interface with the enterprise networking environments.

Hybrid schedule with 2-days per week in-office in Lansing, MI and 3-days per week remote.
Work hours are not to exceed eight (8) hours a day, forty (40) hours a week. Normal working hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm are to be observed unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
