  • Job Description The Network Control Center Field Technician Provides hands-on technical support in both workshop and field environments relating to the test and installation of GNSS and IT equipment for the Fugro Satellite Positioning network infrastructure to minimize service issues while maximizing availability and positioning performance. Job Responsibilities Executes operations in the field at Reference stations, Uplink sites, and any other GNSS network endpoint where the isolated Satellite Positioning Fugro Data Network (FDN) extends too. Plans and/or coordinates site visits, including resource and QHSSE planning for field operations. Ensures that all aspects of Site visits are in accordance with internal protocols and external regulations. Responsible for reference station & uplink station equipment, maintenance, setting up, and operating of equipment to ensure it will function properly in the field. Setting up, interfacing, networking, testing, operating, repairing, and maintaining GNSS & IT equipment to execute some positioning and uplinking data tests up to medium complexity to ensure kit functions correctly in the field. Involved in/responsible for most engineering-related aspects of Reference station and uplink station installs. Reporting repetitive problems with equipment, working processes, and hazardous situations while looking to seek solutions from daily work experience, escalating complex tasks to the Network Technicians in Houston and in Singapore when required. Works with moderate supervision and standard operating procedures. Working at heights with GNSS antenna installations will be a key aspect of this role while observing Fugro’s QHSSE safety guidelines. Job Requirements Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions. Possess the ability to obtain a valid passport for international travel. Requires previous Network, GNSS, or electronic field education or equivalent professional and intellectual capacities and relevant work experience. Job is performed in the field and/or workshop. Experience in any type of specific technical training towards; electronics, GNSS, RF, computers, etc. Experience in Intermediate technical background with electronics and RF principles Possess strong working knowledge of computers, networking, and electronic equipment. Fluent in a variety of software applications (including but not limited to MS Office Ability to work long hours and on weekends-Ability to travel and work away from home base for extended periods, both domestic and at time international. Work is primarily in an office/workshop setting. When on location work environment can be foreign, loud if in a data Center, occasionally will be exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, and working in high precarious places.
