Requisition Summary

Job Functions / Responsibilities

• ESTABLISH PERFORMANCE STANDARDS AND OBJECTIVES FOR THE DEPARTMENT THAT SUPPORT OVERALL OPERATING OBJECTIVES.
• MANAGE THE SUPPLY BASE TO MEET REQUIREMENT DATES AND INVENTORY OBJECTIVES. COORDINATE WITH DIVISION TO ASSURE THAT INVENTORIES ARE CONTROLLED AND SURPLUS AND OBSOLETE MATERIAL IS MINIMIZED. CONTACT SUPPLIERS DIRECTLY TO EXPEDITE CLOSURE OF MAJOR SUPPLIER QUALITY AND DELIVERY ISSUES.
• NEGOTIATE PACKAGING ISSUES TO RESOLUTION
• IDENTIFY PROCESS IMPROVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND DEVELOP STRATEGIC PLANS TO IMPROVE ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE.
• COORDINATE WITH OTHER DEPARTMENTS AND DIVISION STAFF TO ASSURE THAT NEW PRODUCT IMPLEMENTATIONS AND PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS ARE IMPLEMENTED WITH NO IMPACT ON PLANT OPERATIONS.
• PROVIDE PROACTIVE ASSESSMENTS OF CURRENT AND FUTURE MATERIAL FLOW ISSUES; PLAN TO RESOLVE.
• ESTABLISH AND MONITOR PROCEDURES TO ENSURE PROPER SCHEDULING OF CUSTOMER REQUIREMENTS WITHIN THE SCHEDULING PARAMETERS PROVIDED BY EACH PLANT.
• ESTABLISH AND ADMINISTER EMPLOYEE TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT PLANS.
• FORMULATE DEPARTMENT BUDGET FOR MANAGEMENT APPROVAL AND MANAGE ONGOING DEPARTMENT EXPENDITURES TO MEET BUDGET TARGETS.
• PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, MATERIALS MANAGEMENT, OPERATIONS OR RELATED FIELD.
• AT LEAST FIVE YEARS SUPERVISORY OR MANAGERIAL EXPERIENCE AND FIVE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE WITHIN MATERIALS, PREFERABLY TWO OF THOSE YEARS WITHIN PACCAR.
• ABILITY TO MANAGE MULTIPLE TASKS EFFICIENTLY IN A FAST PACED ENVIRONMENT.
• PROVEN LEADERSHIP AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
• NEGOTIATION SKILLS INCLUDING CONFLICT MANAGEMENT
• ANALYTICAL AND PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS
• EXCELLENT WRITTEN AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS
• DEMONSTRATED ABILITY TO INITIATE, ORGANIZE, AND IMPLEMENT PROCESS CHANGES
• WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF THE COMPUTER SYSTEM
