Network Control Center Manager manages the daily activities of a network service function to ensure efficient, reliable, and secure operations that meet users' needs. Directs testing, configuration changes, or upgrades to network hardware or software. Being a Network Control Center Manager oversees monitoring of the network traffic and performance to identify and troubleshoot any issues. Leads incident response and implements standard incident management processes, including root cause analysis (RCA) of any issues to identify and deploy corrective actions. Additionally, Network Control Center Manager develops capacity planning forecasts and strategies. Manages relations with vendors and service providers and monitors performance quality to ensure required service levels are delivered. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Network Control Center Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager.     Summary:
    The Manager of Bus Telematics and Control Center Automation is responsible for deploying and supervising Telematics specifications and solutions for all Operations Control Center technology, Computer Dispatch, Yard Management and Automated rolling stock Maintenance. Will act as a subject matter expert on all Telematics solutions and associated software. The role will prepare and supervise testing system and sub-system solutions effectively to improve overall system performance. This position is responsible solutions related to all system deficiencies and vendor backlog. Will act as a subject matter expert on all Telematics solutions and associated software.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Provides Subject Matter Expertise during the deployment of all required Telematics platforms in relation to putting new Bus’s into service.
    • Collaborates with internal networking teams on network design and facilities upgrades.
    • Leads the Change Management process for all Telematics related matters.
    • Must understand end exploit all opportunities regarding use of 5G technology and must manage 5G service providers for coverage throughout the NJ Transit geography.
    • Drives coding solutions to deploy business requirements as the Telematics product manager and owner.
    • Provides support in the form of maintenance and enhancements of existing applications systems.
    • Constructs and provides user training as appropriate to improve systems.
    • Analyze and gather business requirements to ensure business needs are recorded.
    • Effectively demonstrate understanding, implementation, and support all transportation systems, programs, procedures, and policies.
    • Prepares data retrieval for operational and managerial decision making using complex queries and Report Writing tools. Prepares and delivers presentations of information and training to all levels of users and managers.
    • Bench tests emerging technologies to demonstrate acceptance points for incorporation into or to plan for future migration of software and telematics upgrades releases.
    • Complete other various assignments, as required.

    Education, Experience and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree with a major in computer systems, electrical engineering, or comparable field. Five years equivalent work-related experience considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
    • Five years’ experience with a proven track record of monitoring and collaborating with Telematics vendors
    • Five years of systems and analytics work experience related to Bus operations and Maintenance in an IT supporting role.
    • Three years in a supervisory capacity.

    • Strong operational and analytical skills, as well as the ability to think critically and problem solve.

    • Ability to work on numerous initiatives simultaneously.
    • Must possess qualities of integrity, discretion, and strong work ethics.
    • Must be proficient with reporting and analytics tools, platforms, and practices.
