CAD Control Systems, a leader in the development, design, and manufacturing of BOP Control Systems, is seeking a skilled, motivated, and dependable Assembly Technician/Painter to join our team at our manufacturing facility in Broussard, LA. This individual will be responsible for painting products and performing general mechanic work in the manufacturing and repair of hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic BOP Control Systems, Pumps, and High Pressure Test Systems.
Essential Duties:
- Cleans grease and dirt from product and prepares it for painting.
- Sprays surfaces of machines, manufactured products, or working area with protective or decorative material such as paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, or lacquer as needed.
- Perform general assembly operation according to drawings and assembly instructions of hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic BOP control systems, pumps, and high pressure test systems.
- Ensure parts and materials are handled properly and protected.
- Operates various items of machinery.
- Learn several processes and use various types of hand and power tools in the layout, fabricating an assembling of products in accordance with production drawings and documents.
- Performs tests required for preliminary and final FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) hydrostatic testing and evaluation of the component or subassemblies as specified by assembly instructions.
- Provide proper identification of assemblies after the test operation is completed. This includes the part numbers, serial numbers and work order information as directed.
- Maintain all necessary production assembly documentation as required.
- Performs post-assembly and test activities as necessary to disassemble in order to restore or refurbish equipment readiness for use.
- Picks up, sweeps or removes any debris, residue or any excess foreign material located in or around a part, components or assembly as soon as physically possible after the operation takes place. Ensure work area and shop is clean at the end of each day.
- Maintains a clean uncluttered work area and takes precautions against the introduction of foreign objects into components and assemblies.
- Able to identify the hazards of high pressure equipment and chemicals used during the assembly process.
- Able to operate forklifts competently and safely.
- Additional duties include washing, painting, testing, trouble shooting and packaging of finished product by using hand tools and power tools.
- Required to do any and all tasks deemed necessary by his/her supervisor for the safe and efficient operation of the company.
- Any other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to read and perform basic math calculations easily.
- Must be trainable in various aspects of intricate production techniques.
- Must have strong general mechanical skills.
- Must be able to concentrate in a busy work environment and be detail-oriented in order to maintain a high level of quality, keep accurate accounts of time and production, keep production on schedule and maintain a safe working environment.
