Network Engineer develops and deploys plans and designs of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Conducts network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Being a Network Engineer defines monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Troubleshoots network issues and develops appropriate solutions, resources, and deployment processes. Additionally, Network Engineer keeps informed of the latest technologies to enhance knowledge of networking hardware, software, and best practices. May be certified in vendor-specific products. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Network Engineer work is closely managed. The Network Engineering Team shall perform a detailed root cause analysis and assess overall impact with respect to incidents and problems relating to the applications which cannot be resolved by the Tier 1 or Tier 2 Support teams. The Network Engineering Team also modifies the code and/or changes the configuration, if required, to correct the identified defect, and performs necessary acceptance testing before re-issuing the code for general use. Tier 3 performs application capacity planning, life cycle management, development, customization, and maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must maintain a current Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
At least four (4) years of experience working with the TCP/IP networking environment; familiarity with Domain Names Services (DNS), etc.
