Network Engineer develops and deploys plans and designs of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Conducts network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Being a Network Engineer defines monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Troubleshoots network issues and develops appropriate solutions, resources, and deployment processes. Additionally, Network Engineer keeps informed of the latest technologies to enhance knowledge of networking hardware, software, and best practices. May be certified in vendor-specific products. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Network Engineer work is closely managed.     Piper Companies is seeking an experienced Route/Switch Network Engineer who can support enterprise routing and switching in a large strategic organization. Must be willing to go onsite everyday in Pocatello, Idaho . The ideal Route/Switch Network Engineer must have an active US Government TS (SCI eligible) Security Clearance and can optimize the network independently with excellent consulting and communication skills.

    Responsibilities of the Route/Switch Network Engineer include:
    • Optimize complex networks through layer 2 through layer 3 support
    • Considerable experience with end-to-end architecture/design work across several technology areas, as well as strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems
    • Ability to work freely and thrive in a transformational environment

    Requirements for the Route/Switch Network Engineer include:
    • 8 years of experience as a Network Engineer
    • Proficient in enterprise routing and switching (Layers 2 - 4)
    • Strong BGP and OSFP routing protocol experience
    • CCNP or CCIE level experience, preferably in enterprise Networking

    Compensation for the Route/Switch Network Engineer include:
    • Salary Range: $115,000-$135,000 **DOE** plus comprehensive benefits package
