Network Engineer develops and deploys plans and designs of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Conducts network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Being a Network Engineer defines monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Troubleshoots network issues and develops appropriate solutions, resources, and deployment processes. Additionally, Network Engineer keeps informed of the latest technologies to enhance knowledge of networking hardware, software, and best practices. May be certified in vendor-specific products. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Network Engineer work is closely managed.     Description

    Currey Ingram Academy is currently accepting applications for a full-time Network Support Engineer starting 6/1/2024. This is a 12-month, 40 hour per week position based on campus in Brentwood, TN.

    Responsibilities:

    • Respond to support tickets and walk-up requests in a prompt, courteous manner.
    • Provision Chromebooks, MacBook Airs, iPads, and Accounts for users. 
    • Troubleshoot problems related to authentication, permissions, network configuration, and user education.
    • Explain complex technical concepts to a variety of learners.
    • Set up and train on event audio-visual needs and facility capabilities.
    • Document procedures, solutions, and infrastructure.
    • Assist the Director of Information Technology with complex tasks.
    • Troubleshoot user connectivity problems and escalate as needed.
    • Assist with network device configuration and basic maintenance like patching and updates.
    • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and technologies.
    • Provide first-line support for network infrastructure and user connectivity.
    • Automate routine network tasks whenever possible.
    • Contribute to improving network security and efficiency.

    • MacOS Management 
    • iOS / iPadOS Management 
    • ChromeOS Management 
    • Google Admin 
    • Network Administration 
    • Content Filtering and/or Proxy 
    • Troubleshooting, Repair, and Setup of physical connections for Ethernet.
    • Printer Management and Troubleshooting
    • VOIP Systems
    • Audio and Video mixing and switching systems
    • FileMaker Pro Server
    • Mosyle or similar MDM and Package Management solution
    • 3D Printing

     

    Qualifications:

    • An Associate’s degree in IT or a related field preferred
    • Relevant field experience
