Network Engineering Director plans, designs, and develops all aspects of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Identifies network requirements for hardware, software, and services that will provide optimal solutions and meet the capacity requirement for the organization. Being a Network Engineering Director directs network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Develops monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Additionally, Network Engineering Director keeps abreast with the latest technologies and best practices and utilizes vendors and providers to provide additional resources to support networks. Usually is certified and has deep knowledge of vendor-specific products. Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Network Engineering Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Network Engineering Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Network Engineering Consultant - (Contract)

    SYSTEMTEC is assisting our client in filling a Network Engineering Consultant for a Contract position in Charlotte, NC that is onsite. The ideal candidate in this role will will be responsible for configuring and coordinating the installation of new network devices to replace outdated equipment.

    Required Qualifications of the Network Engineering Consultant:

    • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
    • At least 5 years of Network Engineering installation and support.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for fostering effective working relationships.
    • Ability to self-manage tasks to meet schedules and deadlines.
    • Experience in Network Engineering support.
    • Knowledge of network equipment and application installation.

    Responsibilities of the Network Engineering Consultant:

    • Configure new Aruba infrastructure to replace existing Cisco network infrastructure throughout the project.
    • Plan, coordinate, and execute change control during site upgrades.
    • Provide technical support to resolve issues associated with site upgrades.
    • Develop automation to enhance installation efficiency and project timelines.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on project tasks to minimize downtime and plan resources for testing dependent applications.
    • Utilize ticketing systems to track deployments and document devices.
    • Configure technology devices according to clients' standards (e.g., operating system, software) and enroll equipment in the appropriate management system.
    • Assist in decommissioning and surplus technology devices.
    • Support inventory procedures and audits.
    • Perform lightweight Access point installations by working overhead and on a ladder.

    Physical Requirements of the Network Engineering Consultant: :

    • This position requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.
    • The position requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. At times, the position requires bending, squatting, reaching, with the ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs, push or pull light weights and to use and work from a ladder to reach ceiling heights.
    • The position requires activities frequently involving driving automotive equipment.
