Network Engineering Director plans, designs, and develops all aspects of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Identifies network requirements for hardware, software, and services that will provide optimal solutions and meet the capacity requirement for the organization. Being a Network Engineering Director directs network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Develops monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Additionally, Network Engineering Director keeps abreast with the latest technologies and best practices and utilizes vendors and providers to provide additional resources to support networks. Usually is certified and has deep knowledge of vendor-specific products. Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Network Engineering Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Network Engineering Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     • Establishes a strong engineering culture, excellent technology, high quality implementations and foster effective communications in and among the organization. Achieves quick and constructive resolutions of conflict and sets standards for quality, testing and documentation.
    • Facilitates communication among clients/customers and engineers, ensuring specifications, budgets, and deadlines are clearly communicated and understood.


    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in leading an engineering organization with demonstrated experience in leading new technology efforts from inception to transition to a customer organization, driving program deliverables, identifying, and resolving technical and program decision/issues.
    • A minimum of 10 years of broad engineering experience within designing and manufacturing organizations.
    • Minimum of 7 years of R&D experience.
    • Wheels and Tires experience is REQUIRED. 
    Preferred:
    • Strong knowledge and experience with process tools such as profit planning, strategic planning, Organizational Capability Assessment
    • Lean System/Six Sigma, Supply Chain Management
    • Fixed Capital Optimization
    • Quality System
    • Environmental
    • Health and Safety (EHS) processes (ISO 9001, etc.).
