Network Engineering Director plans, designs, and develops all aspects of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Identifies network requirements for hardware, software, and services that will provide optimal solutions and meet the capacity requirement for the organization. Being a Network Engineering Director directs network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Develops monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Additionally, Network Engineering Director keeps abreast with the latest technologies and best practices and utilizes vendors and providers to provide additional resources to support networks. Usually is certified and has deep knowledge of vendor-specific products. Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Network Engineering Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Network Engineering Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     1. Engineering Process Improvement:
      1. Actively engage in troubleshooting and enhancing engineering processes to improve efficiency and quality of service.
      2. Collaborate with technical teams to identify process bottlenecks and implement solutions in a timely manner.

     

    1. Team Development:
      1. Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of professionals to foster a collaborative and high-performing environment.
      2. Establish clear performance metrics and conduct regular performance evaluations to ensure accountability and excellence.

     

    1. Client and Partner Relations:
      1. Maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
    1. Compliance and Risk Management:
      1. Ensure all joint use operations comply with industry regulations and company policies.
      2. Proactively identify operational risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on the business.

     

    Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Management, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
      • Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the engineering sector (electrical utility or telecom preferred).
      • Proven track record of operational improvement and expertise in managing large, cross-functional teams.
      • Strong analytical skills and experience with budget management, strategic planning, and process improvement.
      • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working with multiple stakeholders and fostering team collaboration.
      • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and guidelines is highly desirable.
