Network Engineering Director plans, designs, and develops all aspects of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Identifies network requirements for hardware, software, and services that will provide optimal solutions and meet the capacity requirement for the organization. Being a Network Engineering Director directs network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Develops monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Additionally, Network Engineering Director keeps abreast with the latest technologies and best practices and utilizes vendors and providers to provide additional resources to support networks. Usually is certified and has deep knowledge of vendor-specific products. Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Network Engineering Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Network Engineering Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Position Highlights:

    As a Director in the Civil Engineering Practice, you will lead a group of Triangle-focused engineers. In this exciting opportunity for a senior Civil Engineer, you will manage, mentor, and motivate a team, helping engineers thrive in their careers. You will have an opportunity to expand your portfolio by working on exciting, high-profile, and complex projects. In addition to working on a variety of projects, you will partner with the Practice Leader to develop strategies for technical excellence, engagement, and growth. The Civil Engineering practice is focused on Site/Civil Land Development Engineering projects in a variety of sectors: Mixed-Use, Healthcare, Higher Ed, Residential and more. Our work includes grading, drainage, erosion control, utilities, stormwater, site planning, and permitting for development projects across NC.

    Position Responsibilities:

    In this role, you will be leading the efforts to bring quality design to life. This position will involve all aspects of civil engineering, as well as client relations, team management, financial, and business development responsibilities. This job might be for you if:

    Position Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree required; Master's Degree preferred
    • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required
    • Minimum 12 years of experience in civil engineering, with advanced knowledge of civil engineering principles and methods
    • Significant experience with project management
    • Proven success in leadership and team management

    Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

    You are willing and able to work in a professional, climate-controlled office environment with moderate noise levels and exposure to lots of light, both natural and artificial. Workstations are in an open space layout with frequent collaboration and interactions from co-workers throughout the day. You are able to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Additional requirements include providing on-site technical assistance by occasionally accessing client or construction sites with varying terrain.
