Network Engineering Director plans, designs, and develops all aspects of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Identifies network requirements for hardware, software, and services that will provide optimal solutions and meet the capacity requirement for the organization. Being a Network Engineering Director directs network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Develops monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Additionally, Network Engineering Director keeps abreast with the latest technologies and best practices and utilizes vendors and providers to provide additional resources to support networks. Usually is certified and has deep knowledge of vendor-specific products. Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Network Engineering Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Network Engineering Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Job Description:
    Install, configure, and maintain an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), data communications network, operating systems, and physical and virtual servers. Perform system monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems. Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups. Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access. Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses. May assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software. Project specific: responsible for the acquisition, installation, maintenance, and usage of the organization's local area network. Manages network performance and maintains network security. Ensures that security procedures are implemented and enforced. Installs all network software. Evaluates, develops and maintains telecommunications systems. Troubleshoots network problems. Establishes and implements network policies, procedures, and standards and ensures their conformance with information systems and organization objectives. Trains users on network operation. Frequently reports to Senior Network Engineer/Description: Under direct supervision, maintains integrity of the operating system environment. Performs system software upgrades including planning and scheduling, testing, and coordination. Performs workstation and server administration setup. Coordinates disk space planning and management. Maintains growth statistics, space forecasts, tape libraries, and software and hardware inventories. Performs data backups and recoveries. Monitors and maintains continuity with system software licensing and maintenance agreements. Provides recommendations regarding hardware and system software planning and budgeting. Maintains production change control schedule and participates in change control.
    Key Responsibilities: -Configure and Monitor Cisco ASA and firepower firewalls.
    -Perform IOS upgrades and backups on network devices.
    -Verify and document security vulnerabilities on network devices.
    -Verify network device authentication.
    -Perform Tier II and III support.
    -Write and review network documentation.
    Recommended being familiar with the following software:
    -Cisco IOS XE
    -Cisco ASA
    -Cisco FTD
    -Cisco ASDM
    -Cisco Identity Services Engine
    -Cisco Firepower Management Center
    -Cisco SDWAN
    -Solarwinds
    -Infoblox
