Network Engineering Director plans, designs, and develops all aspects of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Identifies network requirements for hardware, software, and services that will provide optimal solutions and meet the capacity requirement for the organization. Being a Network Engineering Director directs network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Develops monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Additionally, Network Engineering Director keeps abreast with the latest technologies and best practices and utilizes vendors and providers to provide additional resources to support networks. Usually is certified and has deep knowledge of vendor-specific products. Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Network Engineering Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Network Engineering Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Abonmarche is seeking a Regional Civil Engineering Director to be located in either the Grand Rapids or Grand Haven office.

    Job Summary:

    Manage, organize, design, and execute Civil Engineering projects for municipal and/or private development clients. Manage the operations and engineering team for the Grand Region to include Grand Rapids and Grand Haven office locations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Serve as a Project Manager on a variety of municipal projects or private development projects.
    • Assist with business development activities, budgeting, proposal preparation, and contract execution.
    • Prepare proposals, contracts, and subcontracts in coordination with the Vice President.
    • Establishes and reviews project deadlines, sets priorities, and tracks progress on all aspects of a project as well as provides weekly and/or monthly status reports.
    • Manage and oversee budgets and invoicing.
    • Supervise and support team members including career development and performance.
    • Develop and maintain positive team, client, and contractor relationships.
    • Collaborate with other disciplines across the firm to include survey, construction, architecture, planning, landscape architecture to effectively lead the team and serve our clients and communities.

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.

    Licensure/Certification/Registration:

    • Michigan Professional Engineer License Required

    Work Experience/Qualifications:

    • Minimum 10 years of municipal consulting work experience.
    • 5 years’ progressive management experience.
    • Experience in client management, preparing and meeting budgets and schedules.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam preferred.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills as position will require direct contact with multidisciplinary team and clients.
