Network Engineering Director plans, designs, and develops all aspects of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Identifies network requirements for hardware, software, and services that will provide optimal solutions and meet the capacity requirement for the organization. Being a Network Engineering Director directs network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Develops monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Additionally, Network Engineering Director keeps abreast with the latest technologies and best practices and utilizes vendors and providers to provide additional resources to support networks. Usually is certified and has deep knowledge of vendor-specific products. Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Network Engineering Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Network Engineering Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     GENERAL OVERVIEW:

    Provides service support and preventive maintenance on specialized biomedical equipment and systems (e.g., life support devices, anesthesia equipment, surgical robots, etc.) during normal working hours and on call rotation as required.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responds to unscheduled service requests from users by performing initial problem verification, troubleshooting, and problem correction. (35%)
    • Completes scheduled maintenance in accordance with PM Inspection and Protocol management plan. Initiates and completes documentation after repair or PM is completed. (35%)
    • Attends service schools, in house training or self-directed study as required on specialized equipment and systems. (5%)
    • Performs and/or assists in installation of specialized systems. (10%)
    • Assists other technical positions in Clinical Engineering/Medical Physics, and other departments in the hospital as required. (5%)
    • Interfaces with users, management, and administration as a subject matter expert in specialized biomedical equipment and systems. (10%)
    • Performs all other duties as assigned or required.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Minimum

    • Graduate from an electronic technical school.
    • 3-5 years’ experience supporting general biomedical equipment.
    • 4 years Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or hospital experience in higher end devices and systems.

    Preferred

    • Associate's Degree in biomedical or electronic engineering.
