Network Engineering Manager manages and implements the plans, designs, and development of all aspects of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Identifies network requirements for hardware, software, and services that will provide optimal solutions and meet the capacity requirement for the organization. Being a Network Engineering Manager conducts network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Develops monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Additionally, Network Engineering Manager keeps abreast with the latest technologies and best practices and utilizes vendors and providers to provide additional resources to support networks. May be certified or has deep knowledge of vendor-specific products. Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Autonomy to run the office how you see fit 60% of the time as project manager and 40% of the time on estimates and contracts.
Manage the full life cycle of projects
Project management planning, monitoring and implementation.
Provide advice and creativity resolve any potential problems/deficiencies quickly
Coordinate execution of projects with our staff, our clients and our project team members
Ideal Candidate Skills Include:
Professional Engineer License (PE) for the state of Ohio required, Civil PE preferred.
Experience with writing and negotiating contracts for business development for ODOT, Private Civil Development, roads, dirt, and utility.
5 years of experience working and leading Transportation Projects
5 years of experience working with Microsoft Project, Civil 3D, Bluebeam, Cims.
Experience with roadway documents and permitting preferred with City of Columbus/Cleveland.
Experience working with ODOT Districts 5, 6, 7, 8 and 12
Experience working with Cuyahoga and Franklin County
Strong analytical and communication skills
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team with minimal oversight
Educational Qualifications:
BSCE from an ABET accredited College or University required
