Network Engineering Manager manages and implements the plans, designs, and development of all aspects of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Identifies network requirements for hardware, software, and services that will provide optimal solutions and meet the capacity requirement for the organization. Being a Network Engineering Manager conducts network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Develops monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Additionally, Network Engineering Manager keeps abreast with the latest technologies and best practices and utilizes vendors and providers to provide additional resources to support networks. May be certified or has deep knowledge of vendor-specific products. Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Network Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Network Engineering Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. The Opportunity Adobe is seeking an experienced Director to lead the global Network Engineering organization, which spans multiple teams and is comprised of subordinate leaders, architects, and senior engineers. This exciting leader will identify, prioritize, and drive key pivotal initiatives, and continue building an impactful team, collaborate effectively with internal customers and provide strategic vision to help Adobe scale, standardize, and optimize its public and private cloud networking services. What You’ll Do Develop and maintain strong partner relationships with internal customer teams while continually striving to understand their needs and empathize with their challenges Continue advancing a department-wide transformation from legacy IT to value service provider, with an emphasis on commercializing the Network Engineering service catalog Accurately forecast and lead a multi-million dollar annual department budget funding all aspects of Adobe’s networking infrastructure and related services Publish technical roadmaps in collaboration with subordinate leaders and architects to ensure solutions remain current and meet availability, capacity, and performance expectations Establish, communicate, and manage clear department goals and priorities (OKRs) Develop, maintain, and empower a successful, globally team through effective recruiting, mentoring, training, and empowerment Regularly evaluate department technical and procedural paradigms to ensure they’re aligned with service delivery objectives, internal customer expectations, and sustainability Promote a culture of operational excellence by advising improvements to tooling and processes and encouraging clarity and accountability Remain apprised of industry networking and service delivery standard methodologies, as well as the competitive vendor landscape, to ensure networking services are second to none Recognize risks / blockers and work purposefully to engage with the right partners to identify solutions or workarounds Work closely with program management resources to regularly and proactively communicate needs & requirements, lead delivery expectations, and maintain customer alignment What You Need to Succeed MBA or related business degree strongly preferred 10-15 years of experience managing large, global diverse network engineering teams (or a closely related field) with at least 5 years spent managing managers Strong background in network engineering fundamentals, technologies, and best practices Experience with Agile development: Scrum or other iterative methodologies An eagerness and tenacity to influence others to achieve goals and perform at a high level Confidence to tackle the unknown, challenge assertions, mediate disputes, hold stakeholders accountable, and manage leadership / customer expectations proactively Ability to deftly shift focus as objectives and priorities change, including realigning program teams accordingly Strong organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate, prioritize, and manage multiple complex activities Proficient at breaking down complex problems into manageable, delegable components Proven ability to manage geographically distributed, multinational teams Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with ServiceNow (or similar ITSM suite) and strong familiarity with ITIL concepts Experience with JIRA (or similar project management tools) Proficiency using Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.) Prior experience working as a network engineer, developer, or architect is a plus Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $152,000 -- $343,800 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
