Network Engineering Manager manages and implements the plans, designs, and development of all aspects of network systems that will meet an organization's requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Identifies network requirements for hardware, software, and services that will provide optimal solutions and meet the capacity requirement for the organization. Being a Network Engineering Manager conducts network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Develops monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans and strategies to ensure the network is responsive to changes in demand. Additionally, Network Engineering Manager keeps abreast with the latest technologies and best practices and utilizes vendors and providers to provide additional resources to support networks. May be certified or has deep knowledge of vendor-specific products. Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Network Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Network Engineering Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     We are seeking a highly skilled Network Administrator/Helpdesk Support to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our network infrastructure and providing support for our end-users. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining network hardware and software, as well as troubleshooting and resolving issues related to network connectivity, security, and performance. Additionally, you will be responsible for assisting with level 2 helpdesk tickets, providing technical support to end-users, and escalating complex issues to senior IT staff as needed. This role will require some travel to existing offices and new locations.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage and maintain the organization's network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
    • Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.
    • Ensure network security by implementing and maintaining security protocols, policies, and procedures.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues, including wired and wireless network connections.
    • Respond to and resolve helpdesk tickets in a timely manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
    • Be part of a round-robin ticket assignment logic that may include non-network related issues.
    • Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff as needed.
    • Install, configure, and maintain network software and hardware.
    • Collaborate with other IT team members to develop and implement network-related projects and initiatives.
    • Keep abreast of emerging network technologies and trends and make recommendations for network infrastructure improvements.

    Requirements

    • Associate’s degree, or above in IT Technology/Computer Science from an accredited university.
    • Experience in a network administration/support role.
    • Knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
    • Experience with network hardware and software, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
    • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks.
    • Knowledge of helpdesk support processes and tools.
    • Relevant industry certifications, such as CCNA or CCNP, are a plus. Additional Cisco Meraki certification is preferred.
    • Willingness to travel as needed, especially for network setup, testing, and optimization in company offices.
    • Must have math calculation skills, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) experience.
    • Strong written and communication skills required.
    • Current driver’s license with a good 3-year driving record is required.

    Physical Demands

    Must be able to work in a sedentary position for up to eight to ten hours per day. Must be able to lift, package, and ship IT equipment up to 50 pounds.

    Expected Hours of Work

    This position will be a full-time position. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with one unpaid hour for lunch each day. The IT team must be available for on call emergencies after hours. Flexible schedules may be available with prior approval from an immediate supervisor.
