Kwik Trip, Inc.’s Information Technology Department is seeking a Network Operations Center Intern. The selected person’s primary responsibility is to assist the Network Infrastructure Team with daily infrastructure support, which includes resolution of day-to-day issues reported in the ServiceNow IT Service Management System, configuration and set up of network equipment, and completion of task requests from the Infrastructure Team. Additional responsibilities include set up, configure, test, and install routers, switches and wireless access points for local and wide area networks; add items to the network monitoring software; assist with the set up and installation of structured cabling; assist with implementation of Network Infrastructure projects; work with software and hardware-based solutions used for network analysis and security; follow appropriate documentation procedures.
Qualifications: Candidates should be enrolled in or have previously completed courses involving networking devices and concepts. The right candidate should demonstrate the following: knowledge of basic network concepts/principles; excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; strong analytical skills; ability to multitask and perform work in an organized, timely manner; ability to work independently with minimal supervision; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Visio); ability to communicate effectively and efficiently through various methods; excellent customer service skills.
Work Schedule: This is a paid internship starting in April and lasting for approximately six months, with the possibility of being extended. Interested candidates must be willing to work up to 28 hours per week. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, daytime hours.
