Network Operations Director manages the daily operations of the organization's network infrastructure, including hardware, software, security, and services, to ensure it meets the organization's performance objectives. Implements policies and procedures that ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, minimize downtime, and support efficient operations. Being a Network Operations Director provides network administrators and technicians with training in the best practices and technologies. Ensures logging and documentation of daily network operations incidents and changes. Additionally, Network Operations Director leads troubleshooting and resolution of routine network issues and conducts root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrences and identify potential technological, training, or process improvements. Automates routine tasks using scripting or basic programs. Advises on budget expenditures to ensure required tools and equipment are procured and maintained. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or it. Typically reports to a director. The Network Operations Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Network Operations Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Job Responsibilities:

    • Ensure reliable operations for end-users by providing support in a multi-client setting via our helpdesk system. Travel to on-site locations will be required.
    • System and network administration in an educational setting implementing requirements by defining and analyzing system and network related problems and then designing and testing standards and solutions.
    • Maintenance and troubleshooting of regional information technology that keeps technical aspects of K-12 schools in the ESU 2 area running smoothly.

    Job Duties:

    • Multi-Platform end user desktop support (Windows, macOS / iOS, and ChromeOS)
    • Multi-Platform Server Administration (Windows / Linux)
    • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members on projects
    • Server hardware research and possible procurement for server upgrades
    • Troubleshooting of server/network related issues
    • Continued maintenance of network appliances
    • Administration of SaaS based services
    • Stay up to date on current network security trends, threats and techniques.
    • Collaborate with other statewide entities on the development of technical solutions
    • Provide reference by writing clear documentation.
    • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and participating in professional organizations.
    • Other duties and responsibilities as needed

    Preferred Job Experience

    • Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
    • A background in K-12 Education preferred
    • Networking background with an understanding of subnetting and VLANs
    • Management of Windows and / or Linux based OS in a virtualized environment

    Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
