Network Operations Director manages the daily operations of the organization's network infrastructure, including hardware, software, security, and services, to ensure it meets the organization's performance objectives. Implements policies and procedures that ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, minimize downtime, and support efficient operations. Being a Network Operations Director provides network administrators and technicians with training in the best practices and technologies. Ensures logging and documentation of daily network operations incidents and changes. Additionally, Network Operations Director leads troubleshooting and resolution of routine network issues and conducts root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrences and identify potential technological, training, or process improvements. Automates routine tasks using scripting or basic programs. Advises on budget expenditures to ensure required tools and equipment are procured and maintained. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or it. Typically reports to a director. The Network Operations Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Network Operations Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     To strengthen our growing team in Richmond, we are looking for a Director of Commercial Operations to lead our operations, focusing on optimizing business processes, enhancing customer satisfaction, and maximizing revenue. The Commercial Director of Operations is responsible for driving the processes of the organization in a broad perspective from the strategic level to daily needs.

    What you will do: 
    Operational Leadership:
    • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the company, ensuring that the organization is managed and performed efficiently and effectively.  
    • Lead coordination and integration of efforts among operations, manufacturing, sales, and customer service to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes.  
    • Lead the program meetings, facilitating collaboration with all parties involved, keeping them informed and motivated to accomplish shared program goals.  
    • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing commercial operations team, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure success 
    Operational Efficiency:
    • Streamline and optimize commercial processes to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring the highest level of productivity.  
    • Identifies areas where continuous improvement can be applied and takes proactive steps to minimize delays in delivery.  
    • Implements and trains team members in policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations.
    Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Drive the execution of the company programs, coordinating and facilitating the decision-making and problem-solving, to ensure the program's overall objectives are met. 
    • Work closely with other departments such as sales, research, and finance to align commercial operations with overall company objectives.
    Strategic Planning:
    • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement operational strategies aligned with overall business objectives. 
    • Report and present program information to the executive leadership team.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify potential areas for improvement and innovation.
    Purchasing and Supply Chain:
    • Oversee the entire supply chain process, from order placement to delivery, to ensure timely and efficient procurement of materials.
    • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements to ensure favorable terms for the company.
    • Develop and manage the company's purchasing budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial constraints.
    • Monitor and analyze spending patterns to identify opportunities for cost savings.
    Logistics and product delivery:
    • Oversee customer service operations to ensure exceptional service delivery, address client concerns, and foster long-term relationships.
    • Improves customer service and satisfaction through policy and procedural changes.
    IT Management:
    • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust and scalable IT infrastructure.
    • Ensure the security and integrity of data, networks, and systems.
    • Ensure IT systems and processes comply with applicable regulations and standards.
    • Evaluate, select, and manage external vendors, ensuring service levels and performance meet or exceed expectations.

    Qualification:
    •  M.S degree in applicable discipline; PhD in scientific disciplines is an advantage.
    • 8-10 years in the biotech or medical devices industry. 3 years as Director of Operations.
    • Precision and speed are key to this role and your success in completing tasks.
    • History of building trust, collaboration, and maintaining partnerships with team members toward achieving program goals.
    • Proven strategic planning skills for the management of long-term projects that lead to success.
    • Ability to adapt and respond quickly to change in a dynamic, high-growth environment and radiate a positive impact to the team.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Thrive in an early-stage environment with a proactive attitude; no task is too big or too small for you.
    • A strong work ethic to deliver results within the timeline.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, organization skills, and attention to detail.
    • Must be able to work in a laboratory and office setting without prohibitive limitations.
    • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
