    Description

    As Strategic Business Unit (SBU) S&OP Lead/Planning Analyst is responsible for planning the end to end supply chain for calcium hypochlorite and pool maintenance products within the Pool Solutions business unit.  As Planning Analyst you will collaborate with Commercial Team, Logistics, Procurement, Key Suppliers and Plants to develop an optimal Value Chain and minimize the cost to serve our customers while provided high levels of service.  Work includes, but not limited, to supply planning (including leveling), capacity planning, establishing stocking strategies, MRP strategy, metric analysis, root cause and corrective action, and identifying supply constraints.  Of significance in this role is scenario planning to address impact of supply constraints and product allocation needs when required. Conduct the S&OP monthly cycle discussions and provide documented decisions related supply/inventory/production plans or escalate identified issues to lmanagement.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Working with Demand Planning, understand the long-term rolling demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation. Collaboration with SBU Support Planners, Sales/Sales Enablement, Regional Product Operations, Product Management, and Marketing to understand changes to customer/regional demand.  
    • Align Supply Planning activities with inventory strategies/glidepaths. Highlight opportunities for improvement throughout the month and season as identified.
    • Work with Commercial Team to align product launch(s), rebranding, restages and other changes to customer applications. Work closely with Plants, third party manufacturers/toller and Logistics to ensure timely supply of products to the business.
    • Conduct monthly Supply Planning Meetings as component of the monthly S&OP Cycle. Meetings will review approved forecasted Demand Plan with Supply Chain stakeholders to ensure alignment with the Supply/Inventory/Production Plan.
    • Engage Procurement and Key Supplier(s) to review inventory strategies aligning them with Solenis demand, plant/regional distribution warehouse storage capabilities and manage through any raw material supply shortages which could impact production.
    • Understand Global Logistics environment and collaborate with Solenis Global Trade and Suppliers to manage transportation strategies to ensure uninterrupted supply and most optimal transportation lanes are in place.
    • Execute and facilitate the Global S&OP meeting. This includes reviewing financial cost projections which could impact COGS, make decisions on exceptions raised from Demand/Supply reviews, communicate to Sr. Management key areas of risk or decision making to mitigate risk to the business performance of the SBU.
    • Provide accurate available-to-promise (ATP) information to customer service representatives and manage any exceptions when ATP is not acceptable to the customer. This would include working with Production facilities to realign schedules to satisfy customer demands that exceed confirmed production schedules whenever possible.  When it is not possible, or practical, to provide quantities or dates that exactly match the customers' requests, provide the best possible delivery promises.
    • Create stocking strategies of both raw material and FG inventory, including material dependencies between manufacturing locations, to align with Solenis Supply Chain targets like Working Capital and Service Levels.
    • Drive planning and production scheduling activities through MRP. The Planning Analyst will maintain MRP data integrity and collaborate with Plants, Regional Planners and Master Data to adjust MRP settings.
    • Lead continuous improvement opportunities by root cause analysis process and the development of corrective actions to address variances in Supply Chain Performance (e.g. Service Levels).
    • Analyze the value chain supplying products within the SBU and look for optimization opportunities. Opportunities could include, but not limited to, working with Logistics to find different modes of transportation to deliver product to a customer, make changes to the current distribution (warehouse) network and/or changing the production footprint for products within your SBU.
    • Understand and communicate the financial impact of Planning decisions on Cost of Goods, Plant CPU and Logistics spend.

    Qualifications

    • BA/BS college degree or its equivalent. MBA preferred.
    • 10 years of related planning and scheduling experience
    • Prior S&OP leadership experience, preferably in consumer packaged goods environments
    • Knowledge of SAP, INFOR or other software related to demand planning is preferred.
    • Organized individual who can coordinate and lead activities that could involve multiple Solenis stakeholders and various levels of leadership.
    • Computer literate in PC applications - good knowledge of Excel, Access and Word.
    • Experience in MRP systems, inventory management a plus. APICS certification would be beneficial.
