New Accounts Representative jobs in Virginia Beach, VA

Duties/Responsibilities, but not limited to:

• Processing, verifying, and posting receipts for goods sold or services rendered.
• Generating and sending invoices and customer statements to clients and following up on payments.
• Researching and resolving account discrepancies and reconciling transactions.
• Maintaining the billing system and accounts receivable files and records.
• Working collaboratively with other accounting staff to ensure accuracy in finances.
• Review GL detail for appropriate coding (reviews weekly for monthly reports).
• Code invoices, set up new accounts, and reconcile accounts.
• Reconcile and post cash deposits and credit card deposits from bank accounts.
• Prepare aging reports; reconcile customer accounts and other financial accounts; manage accounts receivable collections.
• Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
• Research questions for management/operations as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
• Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Solid understanding of basic accounts receivable procedures.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage financial records.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, and accounting software.
• SAP Business One experience preferred.

Education and Experience:

• At least three years of related experience is required.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
