Additionally, New Policy Coordinator typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The New Policy Coordinator possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. The position will work collaboratively with management, faculty and staff within the department and college to serve the best interests of the students.The Coordinator of Student Achievement and Career Preparation at New River CTC role involves guiding students toward academic success and career readiness. Reporting to the Director of Student Services, responsibilities include coordinating programs for academic support, career preparation, and supporting student accessibility services, clubs, and activities.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Guidance and Advising: Providing personalized guidance to students, including first-generation students, on academic and career paths, assisting them in making informed decisions about their educational journey and future careers. Program Coordination: Overseeing and managing programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing student success, including academic support services, career development workshops, mentorship programs, and new student orientation activities. Career Preparation: Offering tailored support and resources to students for resume writing, interview skills, job search strategies, and facilitating connections with internship and job opportunities. Workshop Facilitation: Organizing and leading workshops on various career-related topics such as resume writing, job searches, interview techniques, and professional networking, with a focus on addressing the unique needs of New River CTC students. Job Fair Coordination: Coordinating job fairs and career events, collaborating with employers and recruiters to provide opportunities for first-generation students to explore career options, network, and secure internships or employment. Supporting Accessibility Services: Collaborating with the accessibility services office to ensure first-generation students, along with other students, have the necessary support and accommodations to thrive academically. New Student Orientation Support: Providing support and resources during new student orientation activities to help new students acclimate to college life, navigate campus resources, and set academic and career goals from the start.
