    Summary of Job Duties:The Human Resources Policy & Immigration Specialist collaborates with the recruiting team, college and department HR partners, and internal legal immigration counsel to support all aspects of the foreign national hiring process, prioritizing successful outcomes and delivering exceptional customer service to international faculty and staff. Responsibilities include conducting internal assessments of immigration procedures and policies and effectively communicating updates to personnel across departments.

    This position plays a role in organizing regular meetings with HR partners and departmental units to discuss the transition process for employed visa holders to obtain permanent residency status. Responsibilities also include providing immigration-related training to HR partners and departmental units, overseeing the timely completion and reverification of 1-9 forms for foreign national employees, and tracking and notifying department and college HR partners about the employee's immigration status and full cycle permanent residency key expiration dates.

    As a member of the Policy and Ethics Team, the Specialist assists with regular reviews of HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance and alignment with best practices. They collaborate with HR leadership to identify areas for policy enhancement based on organizational needs and legislative changes. With a focus on clarity and consistency, they collaborate in the drafting, revising and updating policies as needed.

    Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree or at least five years of HR experience

    • At least three years of project management experience or working on multiple projects independently

    • Knowledge of U.S. Immigration, visa types, processes, regulations, and compliance requirements

    • Experience with policy revisions in a professional field

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's Degree

    • Previous experience in an environment with a high volume of US immigration

    • Proficiency with Workday

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Detail-oriented with excellent organization and prioritization skills

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams and Outlook

    • Excellent problem-solving, and decision-making abilities

    • Ability to work in a matrix environment and establish effective working relationships


    Additional Information:


    Salary Information:

    $46,000-$50,000 per year (Commensurate with education and experience)
