Non-Destructive Test Technician jobs in Gary, IN

Job Description:

Entry-level technician opening with an environmental consulting firm in Crown Point, IN. Field-based, hands-on testing role. Candidates must be open to regional travel (2-to-5 day trips). Company vehicle provided.

Responsibilities:

• Perform third-party EPA air emissions testing and monitoring for industrial, manufacturing and commercial clients
• Transport equipment to site using company vehicle, set up and break down of testing equipment
• Record data, collect samples
• Equipment calibrations
• Assist engineers in air quality testing procedures
• Environmental, health and safety protocols
• Organize and load testing equipment into vehicles for upcoming jobs
• Maintenance and cleaning of testing equipment
• Using company resources, gain proficiency in performing EPA Test Methods 1-5

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Environmental Science, Geology, or related
• Previous experience working in a field-based capacity
• Previous experience using testing instruments to collect samples and record data
• Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work well in team settings
• Candidates must be comfortable working at heights and lifting up to 75 lbs to set up testing equipment

Additional Information & Compensation:

• 1.5x Overtime | $52 Per Diem
• Employees typically earn $50,000-$55,000 with overtime their first year at the company.
• All travel time, expenses and lodging are paid for by company
