Expected Pay Rate: $25-$30 hourly

The Test Technician is responsible for executing test procedures relative to radio frequency (RF) and acoustic attenuation of materials, products under production, and finished goods. The Test Technician is also responsible for recording test results, reporting findings, providing feedback, and helping to guide production personnel to mitigate or repair any defects found. The Test Technician will additionally maintain specialized RF and acoustic test equipment and draft or revise test procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities / Essential Functions

• Execute RF shielding effectiveness and acoustic performance tests and report results.
• Operate and maintain test equipment, including Signal/Spectrum Analyzers, RF and Fiber Optic Power Meters, Vector Network Analyzers, RF and Vector Signal Generators, Audio Analyzer/Generators, Oscilloscopes and Digital Video Waveform Monitors.
• Troubleshoot products to identify RF and acoustic leaks and provide guidance on corrective actions.
• Research and provide input on test equipment needs.
• Create and maintain documentation of test cases and corrective actions.
• Work with engineers and remotely located operations personnel to diagnose and resolve product or test equipment.

Skills / Specifications

• Experience in specialized facilities construction, specifically experience in architectural RF shielding and acoustic performance.
• Knowledge of RF and/or acoustic test equipment.
• Experience with different welding processes.
• Knowledge of manufacturing workflow.
• Ability to read technical documentation.
• Experience working in environmental qualification testing laboratories.
• Experience with data acquisition systems and software.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Experience working in the telecom, aerospace, or defense industry is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not require the supervision of direct reports.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office and manufacturing environment, inside and outside, in all weather conditions. This role can routinely use standard tools of the trade and office equipment.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to twist, turn, bend, lift, kneel, climb, and stand. Regular lifting up to 75 lbs. may occur.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time hourly position. Standard days and hours are 40 hours per week, weekends and extended hours as needed. Ability to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends will be required based on business needs.

Travel

Occasional travel may be required.

Required Education and Experience

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1-5 years’ experience as a Test Technician in a relevant industry.
• Knowledge of RF architectural shielding systems.
• Background in RF hardware systems and testing equipment.
• Background in facilities acoustic performance and testing.
• Experience working in low volume-high mix product manufacturing.

Work Authorization / Security Clearance

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance at the TS level.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must be able to pass federal contract OCONUS deployment requirements published by the US Government occasionally.
• Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check.
• Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) drug test and motor vehicle record review.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
